Shaye Larkin is actively involved in improving access of legal services to the poor in the San Francisco community. Shaye Larkin has been recognized by the State Bar of California for her outstanding provision of pro bono legal services for the poor. Ms. Larkin joined the Aids Legal Referral Panel in 1999 and has successfully provided direct representation for HIV/AIDS clients in the areas of credit and bankruptcy, landlord-tenant law, family law, wills, and power of attorney. She has also provided direct representation for clients of the Bar Association of San Francisco's Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP) and in 2001 successfully obtained political asylum and work authorization for an HIV positive VLSP client and is currently assisting him in obtaining his green card. Ms. Larkin received the A.L.R.P. 1999 Attorney of the Year award and the 2001 State Bar of California President's Pro Bono Award.  Shaye Larkin received The San Francisco Bar Association Community Service Award in 1999, 2000, and 2001, and the AIDS Legal Referral Panel Volunteer Award and Superhero Award in 2002.  Since then Shaye Larkin has devoted her spare time to giving hundreds of individuals, couples and businesses legal advice within her practice areas free of charge, and will continue to do so in the forseeable future.
